Ron Burgundy

Ron is about 6-8 months older than Jack and Lucy, which I think puts him around a year and half or so. Though he was the biggest, he was by far the dopiest dog. He got sick at one point with some virus that almost killed him and Lucy. He disappeared for 2 days and then Doc Frank and I found him laying in a ditch in some water where I think he went to die. We carried him out and pumped him with IVs for 2 days until he finally started eating and coming around. After that he was fine, but seemed even more brain-cells short. He's dumb as a brick but probably the most chill of all the dogs. He just likes to lay around and wait for people to scratch his belly. Like Jack and Lucy and even Syd eventually, we managed to teach all of them to Sit, Speak, Shake, Lie down.

Ron is an awesome goofy dog - probably about 2 years old or close to it now.... he almost died once over in Afghanistan, but an awesome medic and lots of TLC and IV's brought him back.  he is super mature, cool dog and would be good with people and other dogs.  He loves to have attention and belly rubs!  Of all the dogs he is probably the easiest and most easy going - he was house trained the first and the fastest - so he is smart too :)
He was named after Ron Burgundy character and has had much love in his life and deserves a second chance in America... please donate to help pay for a plane ticket back for this very sweet and loving pup!

  1. Everyone calls Ron dumb... but if you could have seen him on round-up day when we had to move them to a kennel... that dog is FREAKIN SMART! Last one to get wrapped up due to his nefarious mind. He is also very relaxed... will make an awesome pet.

  2. I became attached to Ron the Spring of 2011. He and my K9, Natty, became such good playmates, I asked about taking him home last year, but it wasn't possible. By chance I was sent back to the same Base again this Spring 2012 and as Fate has it, Ron was still there and was healthy. So, when I found out that they were going to be put up for adoption,I inquired about him and was told he had been spoken for by a Foster Family. I was glad he was going to be adopted, sad I had missed my chance to get Ron. The next day I was asked if I still wanted Ron and I said yes and was told that I would be adopting him.....It took me a year to get him,and he will now become a member of our family......Things do come to those who hope and wait.

    1. I just fed him and Sid this afternoon (Friday 15 June) - Ron is shedding his winter coat and looks a bit smaller than he did this past winter. He and Sid are in good spirits but a bit confused - tomorrow they both begin their journey! Good Luck and Congrats!

  3. My husband just returned to the states on Saturday. This was his second deployment. On his first deployment I heard a lot about Ron and the other dogs and saw pictures then. We knew we couldn't bring him home last year. But this year, the gods were smiling upon us, and Ron B is coming home to us. When My husband called and told me we were able to adopt Ron B I knew he was smiling by the happiness in his voice. Good things do come to those who wait!! Ron B is going to have a wonderful home with us.
